Zhuhai，China，11 Jan - At the beginning of the 2024, the Baotang Grid-Side Independent Battery Energy Storage Station was officially put into operation in Foshan, Guangdong. This is the largest one-time built grid-side independent energy storage power station built in China, the largest new energy storage power station in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the first multi-purpose energy storage station in China, and the first “One-Stop Integrated” lithium battery energy station with multiple technology routes. The installed capacity of this energy storage power station is 300 MW/600 MWh, accounting for 1/5 of the total new energy storage capacity in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Baotang Energy Storage Station covers an area of 58 acres, with 88 sets of lithium-ion phosphate energy storage systems neatly arranged. A 2-story main control building stands in the middle line, and two 110kV lines pass through the tower and are connected to the power supply area. In order to ensure "accurate" charging, storage and release of electric energy in the energy storage system and to respond quickly to the power system's adjustment needs at "millisecond level", multiple important systems are installed in the internal structure. According to the calculation of "2 charges and 2 discharges" every day, Baotang energy storage station can meet the electricity needs of 200,000 residential users in the Greater Bay Area every year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 300,000 tons.
