Zhuhai, China, 21 Dec - The National Manufacturing Innovation Center is an important strategic force of the country and an important strategic layout of the manufacturing industry, only one is established in each field in the country. The Energy Storage Center project is led by China Southern Power Grid, a leading company in the application of new energy storage industry, associating 13 leading upstream and downstream companies in new energy storage materials, chips, batteries, system integration, investment & operations, which includes COSMX, to adopt a "company + alliance" model. The development model focuses on the R&D of cutting-edge industrial and common key technologies, establishing a collaborative innovation mechanism between industry, academia and research, strengthening the protection and application of intellectual property rights, promoting the commercial application of scientific and technological achievements, strengthening the leadership and guarantee role of standards, serving the public for entrepreneurship and innovation, and creating multi-level talents. It carries out construction and operation with eight major tasks including team building and encouraging international cooperation.  

The Energy Storage Center has taken the lead in establishing Guangdong New Energy Storage Industry Technology Innovation Alliance, covering over 85% of the national innovation platforms in the new energy storage field. The alliance has established a technical expert committee composed of 10 academicians and experts to focus on five major aspects of the business, including electrochemical energy storage, mechanical energy storage, superconducting energy storage, thermal energy storage, and hydrogen energy storage. The committee focuses on large-scale energy storage equipment and technology research with large capacity, high safety, long cycle life and high efficiency, and realize common development of key core technologies, transfer & diffusion and first commercial application, from R&D investment, R&D implementation to technology diffusion, completely build an innovative value chain in the new energy storage field.
